GOVERNMENT RESPONSES TO VENDOR SUBMITTED QUESTIONS
1. Question: Paragraph 3.1.6.1.20 states, "…remove blast grit from Void #1." Paragraph 3.1.6.1.23 states, "Remove blast grit from Void #4." However, there is no interior blasting requirement specified for that module or any of the modules throughout the SOW.
Please clarify the removal of blast grit from Void #1 and #4.
Likewise please address the similar reference to blast grit removal in paragraphs;
4.1.7.1.21 4.2.5.1.20 5.1.5.1.23
Government Response: The requirement to remove blast grit from the identified spaces is for Blast grit contamination from a previous overhaul that was not removed. In some cases the blast grit is loose and can be swept out and in other cases the blast grit has gotten wet and has solidified and must be scraped out prior to touch up painting/cleaning. The wet blast grit has caused staining to the coating system.
