Q&A M67004-15-Q-1091

1. Is there an installation requirement or is this just a purchase and freight delivery?

Answers:

1) This is manufacture and delivery only.

2. Is this solicitation request for individual quotes of all three Types of lockers on one quote or for individual quotes for each locker?

Answers:

2) It was individual cost estimates for the three separate lockers- which was also stated in the SOW.

3. The word document with specification has several line items that reference an example (1, 2, 3, and 4) throughout the document. What we need are either those examples and the specific part number or manufacture they are referencing so that we can provide that specification or an equivalent item for each of the following lines?

As a way to help address my questions, below I pasted from the word doc the lines and notes that reference an example. If we had the example with the name and manufacture or part numbers we will be better able to complete the quote with the accurate information.

Answers:

3) The "examples" were the pictures in the SOW, they were clearly labeled.

-Locker type 1 item number:

2. Pallet shelf, with grating, for double stacking. Rated at 250 lbs./sf.

(See example 1). Can you provide that example? If not can you provide the item part number and manufacturer of the pallet shelf with grating?

3. One Fire Suppression System. The suppression system must be mounted on the back of the container. (Similar to the design shown in example 4)

Note: Container design shown in example 1 is preferred.

-Locker type 2 item numbers:

2. Pallet shelf, with grating, for double stacking. Rated at 250 lbs./sf. (See example 1)

3. One Fire Suppression System. The suppression system must be mounted on the back of the container. (Similar to the design shown in example 4)

10. 2 ea. 56" wide doors, 2-hour fire-rated, 3 point locking system. (See example 1)

Note: Container design similar to the one shown in example 1 is preferred.

(2 doors only)

-Locker type 3 item numbers:

3. One Fire Suppression System. The suppression system must be mounted on the back of the container. (Similar to the design shown in example 4)

19. 2 ea. 56" wide doors, 2-hour fire-rated, 3 point locking system. (See example 5)

Questions:

1. Building Size required - 2 Tier pallet storage requires that the building be raised 2' in height to 11' to accommodate the top tier pallet storage. Pallet storage requires a pallet rack installed at mid-height level and sufficient clearance to load pallets for both levels. Please confirm if all 4 doors are to be located on the same long wall or can we mount 2 doors on each side to meet the building dimensions provided. If mounted on one side, the length will need to be increased to accommodate the framing required.

Answers:

NSMB Response: Disagree, needs to be built to the specifications provided in the SOW.

2. Fire-rated Doors - 2 hour fire-rated doors are not available in 56" single doors for the height needed to accommodate 2 tier pallet storage. The hour fire-rated standard is 54" for a single door and can only be fire-rated up to 96" in height. We can build the doors to meet a 2 hour fire resistance, but there are not labeled as 2 hour fire-rated due to the height needed for the top tier pallet storage. Also, please note that the fire-resistant doors for the dimensions needed can be heavy and difficult to keep open during loading/unloading in windy areas. It might be easier for loading /unloading the building to use 1) 3 hour fire-rated roll-up door for the length of the building for access.

Answers:

NSMB Response: Appreciate the concern for wind, needs to be built to the specification provided in the SOW.

3. Pallet Storage - Please confirm the pallet dimensions and number of pallets to be stored in the Type 1 & 2 buildings.

NSMB Response: Pallet size and quantity was provided. Needs to be built to the specifications provided in the SOW.

4. Paint Specification - Please provide the building paint specified that will meet a 10 year "no maintenance required" warranty on the paint finish.

We can source the paint once the product name and manufacturer of the paint requested are provided.

Answers:

NSMB Response: Vendor responsibility to research/identify what is specified in the SOW.
