A minimum of three pallets weighing {CAPACITY} pounds per square foot shall be placed over the joists. After a continuous 4 hours, the distance from the midpoint of the joist to the floor will be measured in inches and recorded as M2. The deflection shall be calculated by using the following formula:

(M1 - M2) / (Span of joist in inches) = Deflection

If the deflection is greater than (Span of joist in inches)/360 or any permanent deformation has occurred, the mezzanine shall fail the test.

2. The lighting under the mezzanine shall be turned on. Test the lighting with a light meter 30 inches from the floor.

If the lighting is not a minimum of 50 foot-candles then the system shall fail the test.
