QUESTION SET 3: Solicitation -LUKE B011
Q1: After reviewing the changes made to appendix A, I noticed that the tire rack inserts were removed from type F pallet rack, but it still states "with wire decking on all levels above second level." Just want to clarify those two levels are not getting wire decking
A: Yes the tire racks were removed from type F. Wire decking ONLY above level 2.
Levels 1 and 2 NO wire decking.
Q2: Also, is it possible to get more details on the tire rack inserts? I know what they are, but in the past there were specs given within the appendix (Thickness of angle iron, size of angle iron, diameter of spring bolts, Color to be painted, etc.) Just want to make sure we are providing what is expected.
A: See Appendix A-(REV-1), paragraphs 3.1 “The pallet rack system shall be capable of supporting a minimum uniformly distributed load of 1100 pounds. The pallet rack shall conform to the requirements of the Rack Manufacturers Institute (RMI) June 1990 Specification for the Design, Testing, and Utilization of Industrial Steel Storage Racks.,” And 3.1.2.
