About this file

The document is a comprehensive List of Program Recyclables for the City of Bradenton's recycling services contract, detailing 15 distinct material categories eligible for recycling. The list provides precise descriptions for each recyclable category, ranging from newspaper and corrugated cardboard to various plastic containers, tin/steel cans, aluminum cans, and glass containers. Each category includes specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, such as specifying acceptable types of plastics by resin code (#1, #2, #5, etc.), acceptable conditions (e.g., no loose caps, no containers over 3 gallons), and examples of typical items within each classification.

The recyclable materials list supports the City of Bradenton's five-year recycling processing services contract, which includes two optional one-year renewals. The comprehensive categorization suggests a robust recycling program aimed at maximizing waste diversion and sustainability efforts. By providing such detailed guidelines, the city ensures clear communication with potential service providers about the exact types of recyclable materials to be processed, which can help improve sorting efficiency, reduce contamination, and potentially optimize recycling revenue streams.
