NOTES:

1. If a repair requires complete lane closure for one-way traffic and a detour, the City of Lavon will obtain a traffic control plan and pay for installation and maintenance of the traffic control equipment and signs needed beyond the normal cones and barricades. In item P.30 and P.31, the contractor will provide standard barricades and cones for repairs to direct traffic around repairs and larger repairs may be split to prevent the need for detours.

2. Concrete to be removed varies from 4 inches to 8 inches in thickness. The majority will be 6 inches thickness. Asphalt to be removed varies from 1 inch to 4 inches in thickness, with the majority being 2 inches thickness.

3. The city will procure and pay for lab testing services. If failing test results are reported, the costs of the retest for lab and field tests will be deducted from the payment to contractor.

4. Pricing to include compaction of the surface if disturbed by removal of existing pavement. Item P.8, P.9, and/or P.10 only to be used if existing subgrade is determined to be inadequate and new subgrade is necessary due to overall weak subgrade. Determination to be made in consultation between the contractor and city engineer upon removal of the existing pavement.
