About this file
This is Addendum #1 to the Lake Johnson Spillway Repairs bid documents issued by the City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department, Stormwater Service Unit on August 19, 2026. The addendum clarifies the location and procurement process for project drawings and the construction schedule. Bidding documents may be examined at the Engineer's office or obtained through Duncan Parnell, Inc., located at 201 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, North Carolina, with online access and ordering available through Duncan Parnell's bid room at https://bidroom.duncan-parnell.com/. Registration with Duncan Parnell is required to obtain complete bid documents and be added to the official Plan Holder's list to receive notifications of future addenda. The project schedule clarifies that construction is planned to commence in fall 2026, specifically targeting October 2026, following the conclusion of Lake Johnson's summer programming operated by the Raleigh Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources Department. The construction delay until fall is necessary to allow the lake to be lowered before repair work can begin.
The addendum does not modify original bid terms, pricing structures, or contract requirements established in the base bid documents. The clarification regarding drawing procurement emphasizes the necessity of registering with Duncan Parnell to ensure receipt of all bidding documents and official addenda notifications. This timing adjustment protects the City's summer recreational operations at Lake Johnson while establishing a realistic project schedule that accommodates both departmental programming needs and necessary preparation activities for the principal spillway repairs.
