Summary

This is a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued by NC State University Procurement Services Department for Security Integrators, Services and Product Providers pre-qualification. The solicitation seeks qualified suppliers in two class designations: Class A (Security Integrators) and Class B (Security Product/Service Providers) to provide integration, maintenance, programming, monitoring services, systems, and inventories for the university's security infrastructure. The RFP was issued on October 12, 2026, with a submission deadline of 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2026, via the Bonfire platform. Proposals must be uploaded electronically to the specified Bonfire portal. This is a pre-qualification solicitation only and does not guarantee minimum or maximum work volume; the university retains the right to perform work in-house or select from the pre-qualified supplier pool as needed. The initial contract term is one year from the date of award, with options to extend for four additional one-year periods, not to exceed five years total. The university will maintain an ongoing RFP process with quarterly evaluation windows, allowing new suppliers to be added to the pre-qualified pool throughout the contract term.

Pricing information is requested for informational purposes only and will not be used in the prequalification evaluation. Class A and Class B proposers must submit hourly labor rates (low and high) and materials markup percentages, which will remain firm for the first contract year; price adjustments may be requested only at contract renewal and are indexed to Consumer Price Index changes. All suppliers must provide a valid ACORD Certificate of Insurance meeting university minimums, including Workers Compensation coverage with $500,000 employer's liability limits, Commercial General Liability of $1,000,000 combined single limit, and Automobile Liability of $1,000,000. Class A integrators must hold active NC Alarm Licensing and NC Low Voltage (SP-LV) licenses, provide evidence of a body of work in security system design and installation, maintain local branch offices capable of responding to emergency calls within two hours of NC State's central campus, and employ certified technical staff. All contractor employees must pass background checks including federal and state criminal searches, sex offender registry checks, and Social Security verification. Evaluation will be conducted in a two-stage Pass/Fail process based on administrative completeness, valid insurance, qualifications and experience, client references, and scope compliance; any single failure results in immediate disqualification.
