About this file

This request for proposal seeks a contractor to assist with standardizing Geographic Information System (GIS) data for use in Next Generation 911 systems nationwide. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's National 911 Program is responsible for coordinating 911 systems and seeks to address inconsistencies in GIS data that could impede emergency response as 911 calls are transferred between jurisdictions. The selected contractor will research challenges involved in standardizing and sharing GIS data used for 911 call routing and emergency response. This includes evaluating technical and nontechnical issues, assessing different approaches used by GIS data providers and 911 systems, and recommending standards and best practices. The contract type will be fixed price with a one year period of performance. Proposals are due within 60 days and award will occur 30 days after.
