About this file

This is an Invitation to Bid (ITB) document issued by UConn Health Center for the Retail Pharmacy and Nursing Education Relocation project (ITB-217002197). The project encompasses two primary components: relocating existing Nurse Education operations from suite LM079 to suite TM112, and renovating the vacated LM079 space to accommodate a new retail pharmacy facility. The retail pharmacy renovation includes installation of a new check-in counter, vaccine alcove, doors, sink, and upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and security systems. The nursing education relocation to TM112 requires associated mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and security upgrades. The vendor question-and-answer period runs from June 15, 2026 at 3:15 p.m. EDT through June 26, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. EDT. Bids are due on July 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. EDT, with award expected within 90 days of bid opening. Bids must remain firm for 180 days from the due date.

For projects valued at $500,000 or greater, bidders must obtain Pre-Qualified Status from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services and UConn Health prior to submission. All bidders must submit a completed Contractor Qualification Statement demonstrating capacity to perform similar projects within the past five years. Bid security equal to 10 percent of the bid amount is required for projects exceeding $20,000. The successful contractor must execute a Performance Bond and Labor & Material Payment Bond, each equal to 100 percent of the contract price, within five days of award. Connecticut prevailing wage rates apply under General Statutes Section 31-53, with annual adjustments effective July 1st. Connecticut citizens and residents of the local labor market area receive hiring preference. Projects estimated to cost more than $50,000 require an approved Affirmative Action Plan from the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, with a 2 percent monthly holdback until compliance is demonstrated. All bids must identify subcontractor names and prices for trades expected to exceed $25,000. Contact Kenny Leung at 860-679-8174 or kleung@uchc.edu for additional information.
