The Lake George Park Commission is a New York State agency, and its purpose is to preserve, protect, and enhance the unique natural and scenic resources of the Lake George Park, which is comprised of Lake George and all public and private lands draining thereto. The Commission is empowered to administer rules and regulations relating to boats and navigation on the lake, and water quality protection controls such as wastewater and stormwater management. The Commission is also the primary agency responsible for invasive species management and prevention on Lake George.
This IFB will result in a five-year contract between the Commission and a Firm to provide employment services and seasonal staff for the Commission’s aquatic invasive species prevention program under regulation 6 NYCRR Subpart 646‐9, which consists of the inspection and potential decontamination (hot water pressure washing) of all trailered vessels prior to launch into Lake George. Seasonal staff supplied and employed by the Firm would serve as Vessel Inspection Technicians (VIT) pursuant to Commission regulations and would be trained by the Commission to inspect and decontaminate trailered vessels.
