About this file

The provided document is an Insurance Specifications for Contractors file issued by the School Board of Pinellas County, Florida, outlining comprehensive insurance requirements for contractors performing work on school district projects. The document specifies detailed insurance coverage requirements across three primary insurance categories: General Liability Insurance, Automotive Liability Insurance, and Workers' Compensation Insurance, with varying coverage limits based on project contract value. Contractors must obtain insurance certificates within ten working days of contract award, with the School Board of Pinellas County listed as an "Additional Insured" and "Certificate Holder" on all policies.

For General Liability Insurance, contractors must provide an ISO Commercial General Liability Policy with minimum coverage limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence and either $2,000,000 or $5,000,000 in general aggregate, depending on the project's contract value. Automotive Liability Insurance must cover owned, non-owned, hired, and rented vehicles with specific minimum limits for combined single limit, bodily injury, and property damage. Workers' Compensation Insurance must meet statutory state requirements with specified employer's liability limits. The insurance company must have a Best's Financial Strength Rating of "A-V" or better, and the School Board requires a 10-day notice of cancellation and a 30-day notice for non-renewal.

ii) Independent Contractor's Protective which provides coverage for injury to others arising out of the independent contractors work. General Contractors may opt to provide this coverage in lieu of naming the School Board of Pinellas County as “Additional Insured”.

iii) Broad Contractual Liability which is liability assumed by the insured under ay contract agreement. This includes any oral or written contract or agreement relating to the conduct of the named insured’s business. If excluded, exception for liability is assumed in an insured contract.
