About this file

This document is an Addendum to Invitation for Bids (IFB) #IFB-23028 issued by the Baltimore City Public Schools (BCPS) Office of Procurement for Data Monitoring Services for two (2), 10 GB Dark Fiber Connections between the BCPS headquarters building and their business continuity location. The addendum extends the bid due date to January 17, 2024 at 11:00 am EST and provides responses to several vendor questions regarding the scope of work, fiber infrastructure, and service level requirements. The solicitation seeks a qualified vendor to provide 24x7x365 monitoring and management of the dark fiber connections, with a 4-hour response time for any service disruptions.

The addendum clarifies that BCPS does not have a maintenance agreement or equipment spares for the dark fiber infrastructure, and the awarded vendor will be responsible for providing any necessary spares. The fiber infrastructure consists of underground, single-mode ribbon fiber with diverse paths between the two locations. Vendors will be required to follow BCPS's fiber splicing policies and may need to obtain permits from the Baltimore City government to perform any work in the right-of-way.
