QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) for DMA Rev1 Q1: My company is working on a response for the WLAN for DMA solicitation and we needed the building drawings to complete the required heat maps, but cannot find them on FBO. Can you all provide the requisite building drawings for the solicitation?
A1: DMA will provide applicable facility drawings. Areas restricted from wireless will be so designated. Areas designated as restricted from wireless have specific distance requirements as relates to access points, and other requirements per DOD Manual 5105.21 Volume 2
Q2:
I understand that Fort Meade and the Defense Media Activity-Broadcast Center are secure facilities; however my question is, will this contract require our personnel to have security clearances to gain access these work sites?
A2: No Q3: Can DMA/DINFOS elaborate on their proposed definition of what is included/expected within a “turnkey Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) system”? Specifically, please define “turnkey” as it relates to this project.
A3: Turnkey means the Contractor does all the work and supplies all the materials. There are instances where DMA can and will provide infrastructure to support the contractor’s efforts in meeting the requirements of the PR. In those instances, Vendor is responsible for termination and testing of GFE fibers or cables.
Specifically, DMA will grant access to the following trunked areas.
6700 Taylor DMA HQ:
DMA HQ has at least 4 dark strands of Multimode fiber (OM3) available from each TR (Communications closet) to EG35 (main data center)
EG04
