AMENDMENT #1
This amendment extends the due date to November 18, 2014 and also provides answers to quoter submitted questions.
Question 1: If we can complete this remotely, will travel still be required?
Answer: As stated in the Statement of Work, the contractor must be on-site to install the system and ensure that it is working. Please provide all of your travel cost in order to complete this portion of the requirement in CLIN0001.
Question 2: Please confirm that items such as computer, a monitor, a keyboard and a mouse in each stand-beside lane will have to be provided and included in the quote.
Answer: It is expected, at a minimum, to include the standard functionality stated in the Statement of Work which includes a receipt printer, a hand held bar code scanner and a card reader for each register. If the quoted system requires a computer, a monitor, a keyboard, a mouse or etc. to work properly, the qouter must include those prices in the total quote also.
Question 3: Please indicate if DeCA will be open to a second computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse on the three lanes for the WIC stand-beside equipment.
Answer: DeCA will allow for the contractor to have a one complete eWIC (PC) setup (monitor, CPU, keyboard, mouse, card reader, printer and keypad) at each register. But will not allow the contractor to have a second complete eWIC setup at each register due to space and power connection restraints.
Question 4: Please indicate the availability of space underneath the cashier stand for the equipment mentioned in the previous question.
Answer: Yes, there is adequate space for this configuration.
Question 5: The Royston Cashier Stand sketch shows the BCS, printer and telephone. Is this for the existing checkout lane or for the proposed stand-beside WIC ECT lane?
Answer: This is for a standard check-out lane at the Commissary. If the register set-up is not exactly like this, that is very similar.
Question 6: In the Royston Cashier Stand sketch, does the “PP” stand for pole?
Answer: Yes, “PP” stands for pole.
Question 7: Is there a display mounted on this pole?
Answer: Yes, there is a display mounted on this pole.
Question 8: What is the clear height below the monitor?
Answer: The clear height is unknown, but the current monitor can be adjusted to fit the WIC display monitor.
Question 9: Can a monitor be mounted on the same pole?
Answer: Yes, a monitor maybe mounted on the same pole.
Question 10: Where is the existing credit card machine placed? If the WIC Card Reader is placed on the raised plate, will the customer have access to it in order to swipe their WIC card and enter their pin?
Answer: The existing credit card machine is on the outside and mounted on the existing bracket. In order for the WIC Card reader to be utilized by the customer, the screen will have to light enough that does not bend or break the raised plate when touched and must have long enough cables that it can still be connected to the WIC system and the power source.
Question 11: Can the hole for wiring from under the raised plated be utilized for the wiring of the WIC stand-beside equipment located above the raised plate?
Answer: Yes Question 12: Can you provide pictures where the WIC stand-beside lane equipment will be placed?
HDEC05-15-T-0008
Answer: Pictures are attached.
Question 13: Will the contractor be provided controlled break-glass means to remotely enter the Point of Sale devices for support and maintenance if/when required?
Answer: No, the contractor will not be provided controlled break-glass means.
Question 14: Please confirm that only pages 1-5 along with the quote need to be completed. Also confirm whether all of these pages will need to be signed.
Answer: Correct pages 1-5 will need to be completed but only page 1 will need to be signed along with page one of this amendment. Also if your company has not filled out FAR 52.212-3 Offeror Representations and Certifications within your SAM.gov profile, pages 10-23 must be filled out and submitted.
Question 15: Can additional explanatory material like brochures, power points, or etc. be attached to provide additional information on the proposed solution.
Answer: DeCA is only allowing for six 8 ½ x 11 pages to be submitted for Section 2. Additional materials will not be evaluated.
Question 16: Please confirm that email scanned copies of documents that are filled out and signed are acceptable.
Answer: Email scanned copies of filled out and signed documents are acceptable.
