2. Contract or Task Order Title. GW Facility Preparation for COMSEC Support Reinforce Floor

3. Background. A COMSEC Room is urgently needed in the EMSS Gateway for use as COMSEC operations and storage room. Currently the EMSS Security Office is being used for COMSEC operations which at times render the Security Office unusable for daily security operations. This causes a conflict when there is a security incident that requires immediate action or privacy. There are also times when COMSEC operations require the use of the room and it is being used for urgent security requirements and cannot be vacated. Both programs have their own unique security requirements and a separate secure COMSEC Room will insure the adequate security and privacy needed by both programs especially with an anticipated growth in the COMSEC program.

During the installation of the vault it was discovered there was a problem with the floor under the vault sagging. A work request was submitted to NAVFAC to check out the floor. NAVFAC recommended the floor be reinforced and the vault structure moved across the room to the reinforced floor.

4. Objectives: To reinforce the floor in Room 108, Building 108, Saipan Drive, JBPHH Wahiawa Annex, Wahiawa, HI. Floor must be reinforced to support 45,000 pounds.

5. Scope: Contractor will design, fabricate and install beam assembly to augment existing under floor beam to increase floor load capacity to support 45,000 pounds. The floor must support a vault that is approximately 13 feet wide by 19 feet long by 9 feet high and weighing 37,000 lbs. Additional 8,000 pounds will be safes, furniture, shelving and people.
