Question and Answer Question 1. Do you for see the need to have multiple certificates for the email campaign or a single certificate for each campaign?

1a. Will each group use a different certificate?

Answer 1. Each campaign will use the same certificate. Each campaign will use the same from address and the certificate will be for that from address. For example, ADSurvey@osd.pentagon.mil

Question 2. What is the overall size of the email campaign? I noticed the 25K per hr rate, do you have overall time limit as time that the entire email campaign would need to be completed (hours, days, weeks)?

Answer 2. Most campaigns will be about 35k to 100k to be sent over the course of a day. Occasional campaigns will be up to 2 million sent over a few days to 5 days. Rate would be increased during night hours and throttled back during day.

Question 3. If a software solution was provided, would it be possible to provide installation and support remotely or is the installation of the software to be done by DOD people only? If an appliance option was delivered, would that be a better choice for this requirement?

Answer 3. Installation would have to be done onsite under supervision of DMDC.

Vendors would be expected to be onsite in Seaside CA for the installation.

****WHAT CAN BE DONE REMOTELY?*** ****WOULD VENDOR TO BE ONSITE OR REMOTELY

HAVE TO BE CAC HOLDER?**** A solution involving dedicated servers with installed software is preferred as it would allow for all the software and the operating system to be integrated and all patches applied to a unified solution without concerns about interactions with other applications on the server.

Question 4. Would web access to the email campaign software be acceptable to the military?

Answer 4. The solution has to reside on DMDC computers within the DMDC firewall in order for the certificate to be validly applied.

Question 5. I notice that on the bid, there is a unit price for the software, but in the requirement, you need 3 units, is the bid price for all of the solution or for each one that is required?

Answer 5. Please price for each one that is required. Your price should be based on what is needed for the solution.
