About this file

This document is a Question and Answer (Q&A) document related to a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a prefabricated storage shelter. The RFQ is for the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and the item requested is a pre-engineered/prefabricated structure with installation.

The Q&A provides responses to several questions, including that this is a supply contract without a bonding requirement, there is no prevailing wage, the structure should be bolted to an existing concrete slab, the 14-foot height accommodates the boat's retractable T-top, a neutral finish (silver, tan, or brown) to match an existing boat barn is preferred, and the government does not have engineering data for the existing concrete slab. The summary of the related federal contract opportunity indicates it is a solicitation with a product description and details provided in Attachment 1.

ST18 Boat Shelter

RFQ H9224024Q1017

Question #3 Will the project be bonded?

Answer #3: This project is classified as a supply contract. As the product description states, the item requested is a prefabricating storage shelter. The services to deliver & install are considered ancillary.

Therefore, there is not a bonding requirement.

Question #4 Is there prevailing wage?

Answer #4: See answer #3 above. This is a requirement for a supply contract.

Question #5 Will you want us to provide new concrete footings for the building?

Answer #5: The structure shall be bolted to the existing concrete slab.

Question #6 Regarding the height of the structure, the gentlemen on site were explaining they would like to be able to store the boats with the retractable T-top up. Does the 14’ height in the RFQ account for that?

Answer #6: Yes.

Question #7 Regarding the finish, what is expected? Anodized aluminum or painted aluminum?

Answer #7: The most durable finish is preferred. A neutral finish to include silver, tan, and brown are acceptable. The desire is to match the existing boat barn, which is a light tan color.

Question #8 Regarding the foundation, since you are requesting to anchor into the preexisting slab, could you provide the engineering data for the concrete slab?

Answer #8: We do not have the engineering data for the existing concrete slab.
