CDC RFA DP 26 0233: Great Health for America Q&A

1. Geographic Coverage & Single vs. Multi-Hub Approaches: I am writing on behalf of our public health agency in [a city in the US], as we prepare our application for the Great Health for America demonstration project (CDC-RFA-DP26-0233).

Given that our designated geographic region is listed as [a metropolitan area with two cities] we have a few critical questions regarding the expected scope, structure, and pre-application resources: Since [the two cities] are distinct metro areas separated by roughly 60 miles, does the CDC prefer a single regional application that actively covers both hubs through a lead applicant/sub-recipient structure? Alternatively, is an application that intensively focuses on high-poverty census tracts within just one of these two cities considered fully responsive?

All applications that meet the responsiveness criteria will be considered. For the purposes of this funding announcement Sandusky and Toledo are considered a single site in which program activities should be implemented.

1. Pre-Application Informational Webinar: Is there a scheduled pre-application bidder's conference call or informational webinar for applicants? If so, could you please provide the registration details or indicate when it will be posted to Grants.gov?

There will not be an informational webinar for applicants for this funding opportunity.

1. Allowable Costs for Capital and Equipment Purchases: To ensure our proposed budget aligns strictly with program guidelines, could you clarify what specific types of large-scale equipment or vehicle purchases are allowable? Specifically, would the acquisition of a mobile health vehicle to deliver clinical or nutritional services to high-poverty tracts be permitted? Additionally, does this funding mechanism allow for land or real property purchase to establish community wellness infrastructure?

The applicant should prepare their budget based on the CDC Budget Preparation Guidance. The CDC Budget Preparation Guidance provides what is required for equipment. Land purchase is unallowable See CDC Budget Preparation Guidelines.

1. Allowable Data Management Plan (DMP) Framework: Is there a specific CDC template or preferred format for the preliminary Data Management Plan required with the initial submission, or should we follow standard CDC DMP guidelines?

Applicants may, but are not required to, use the Data Management Plan template posted at Data-Management-Plan-template.docx, or may format their own plan that includes the required information.

1. Link to Data Management Plan: Hi, I’m working on an application for DP26-0233 and the instructions are as follows but the link is broken:

"Submit your DMP with your application using Data-Management-Plan-template.docx " Can you send the template?

The template can be found here: Data-Management-Plan-template.docx.

1. Questions Regarding the RFA: My colleagues and I came across the Great Health for America RFA and are considering applying to the grant to address asthma health outcomes in [a city in the U.S] but had a few questions for you about the RFA. Would you have anytime this week for a brief call to discuss our questions? If so, please send some dates/times that would work for you to meet. I look forward to hearing from you.

This is a competitive opportunity, and we cannot provide individual assistance applicants. All emailed questions will be answered and posted where all applicants may see the question and response.
