About this file

FTW - Right Turn Lane Specifications

This is a project specification document for the City of Fort Worth's Gate 1 Turn Lane project, a municipal infrastructure initiative at Meacham International Airport. The project scope encompasses the construction of a new right turn lane off Main Street, with associated work including demolition of existing pavement, construction of proposed pavement sections, drainage improvements, relocation of an existing gravel perimeter road, installation of a new gate loop detector, and pavement markings. The specifications detail the technical requirements, materials, and construction standards necessary for completing this airport access improvement project. While specific item quantities and detailed timelines are contained within the full project documentation, the work represents a significant infrastructure modification to facilitate improved traffic flow at the airport entrance.

The project specifications establish the engineering standards and quality requirements that bidders must meet during the construction and completion phases. Key specification areas include pavement design standards, drainage system requirements, marking installations, and gate detector functionality. The project is part of Brazos County's broader street maintenance and infrastructure improvement program, with contract administration and oversight provided by the City of Fort Worth. Funding sources and specific project costs are documented in the associated Request for Bid (RFB 26-016), which established a bid deadline of June 5, 2026, and outlined all contractual terms, insurance requirements, bonding specifications, and evaluation criteria for qualified contractors.
