SCHEDULE OF CHANGES
FA9101-14-B-0008 0003
Question 14: Reference Q&A Addendum #2, Q/A #3 Question below Question set #5, item #1. Review of answer has noted that any repair to the boiler shell/fire box will required boiler repair specialist and the cost is indeterminate until inspection can be performed. This as noted in Question set #5, Q #1 this bid document nomenclature needs to be remove from the bid documents, or an allowance be declared and will be applied in the bid. Please advise.
Answer 14: Final Clarification is as follows. Boiler bottom will be insulated as stated on M3 Boiler #2 Demo note 9. Any additional repairs to the steel plate bottom will be considered unforeseen site conditions and shall be addressed as a modification negotiated at that time.
Question 15: Reference Q&A Addendum #2, Q/A #5. Review of answer from duct fabrication supplier need an answer what is the existing duct size the FDFD#2 fan will connect to, and for lack of requested submittal data from manufacture of the fan. The assumption is the new fans will direct connect to the existing ductwork with no transition piece needed. Please confirm this assumption.
Answer 15: If Force Draft Fan for Boiler #2 matches that of Boiler #3, and #4 it should connect directly to existing ducting.
Question 16: Reference Q&A Addendum #2, Q/A #12, 13, Question below Question set #3, item #4.
Review of answer by manufacture has noted (question not completed).
Answer 16: Again, the pressures noted on M6 are in PSIA. This equates to a -.7 to 0 psi range on EX- J1 and a 0 to .5 psi range on EX-J2.
Question 17: Site visit indicated that Boiler #2 Hot/Cool Air Ducting are to be demolished but Drawing M- 3 does not indicate this. Please clarify.
Answer 17: The drawings are to be followed.
Question 18: Ducting from Induced Draft Fan Damper down to Mechanical Duster Collector is presumed Asbestos Containing Materials on Boiler #2, Drawing M-3, Note 5?
Answer 18: The mechanical dust collector is the only thing believed to contain lead/asbestos. Any additional lead/asbestos found would need to be addressed at that time. If contractor believes an item contains lead/asbestos, Government representative can have item tested.
Question 19: Can acetylene torches be used during demolition?
Answer 19: Acetylene torches are acceptable but need to be addressed in the submitted safety plan.
Question 20: Reference drawing M1, Note #8, 9. The requirement is to inspect and repair bottom boiler plate as necessary. Boiler repair is an unknown issue until inspected and thus not price-able until the inspection is able to be completed. The requirement for inspection and repairs is unknown at this point.
This item needs to be removed from the bid documents for consideration after bottom plate is exposed and the inspection can start. Full consideration specification and certification are needed to perform inspection and repairs to the boiler. Please advise.
Answer 20: Note #9 does not quantify a number or type of repair. Any required repairs not currently known will be addressed through a modification after removal of the ash hopper and inspection. Price the requirement based on the current Statement of Work and Amendments.
Question 21: Reference drawing M1, Note Option 1, Option 2. Please confirm the wording is correct.
Appears to have some carry over items that make the read in question. Option #1 is for boiler #3 but contains references to boiler #2, Option #2, is for boiler #4 but contains references to boiler #3.
Answer 21: To clarify--Option One is for Boiler #3, Remove Ash Hopper. Option Two is for Boiler #4, Remove Ash Hopper. These options will be awarded or closed after inspection of Boiler #2 steel plate. It is anticipated that the conditions of Boiler #2 steel plate will determine whether or not Options One and Two are to be exercised.
