1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 OVERVIEW
This Mission Information Document (MID) provides the mission assurance information for the Sounding Rocket Program 3 (SRP-3) contract development and launch of a demonstration launch vehicle for the Propulsion Applications Program (PAP) Medium Class System (MCS). PAP MCS Demo is sponsored by the Air Force Nuclear Warfare Center. The US Air Force, Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Rocket Systems Launch Program (RSLP) office, Space Development and Test Directorate (SD)/Launch Systems Division (SDL), will provide the Launch Vehicle (LV) and launch services for the SM-2.1 mission through the SRP-3 contract. The Navy will be responsible for coordination of the Space Vehicle (SV) activities.
The baseline launch location for this mission will be from Vandenberg AFB TP-01 launch site.
This is planned to be a Mission Assurance (MA) Category 2 mission, with launch system certified flightworthy by SMC/CC.
There is currently no payload for this mission.
1.2 PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to provide mission-specific information for the SM-2.1 mission assurance effort by identifying the Launch Service Mission Assurance (LSMA) contract Performance Work Statement scope specific to this mission, and to provide schedule and other mission information required in order to propose and execute Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) activities. This MID will:
a. Identify the overall mission objectives.
b. Identify roles and responsibilities and interfaces of which the mission assurance contractor (MAC) should be aware among the various contractors and Government agencies supporting the mission.
c. Identify the baseline mission execution schedule milestones.
d. Identify any mission-unique launch activities.
2.0 MISSION OBJECTIVES
The primary goal of the SM-2.1 mission is to demonstrate the new PAP MCS first, second, and third stage motors in an integrated system, to support a future conventional or nuclear weapon system development with flight-proven motors.
3.0 ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The roles and responsibilities among agencies and contractors that will support the SM-
2.1 mission are described below.
3.1 Customer:
The AFNWC is RSLP’s reimbursable customer for the PAP MCS Demo mission. The Customer’s Associated Contractors (ASCONs) ATK Corp, and Aerojet Inc, are responsible for manufacturing and testing the flight motors as well as supporting integration procedures.
3.2 SMC/SDL:
SMC/SD, located at Kirtland AFB, NM, is responsible for launch services including range support, LV integration, SV interface and mating, and launch services. Within SMC/SD, SDL is the division for Research and Development (R&D) and Space launch missions and is responsible for the SRP-3 launch systems and launch operations.
3.3 Mission Assurance Contractor (MAC):
The MAC provides MA and Independent Verification and Validation support to the mission in accordance with this MID.
3.4 Launch System Contractor (LSC):
SMC/SDL will contract with the LSC to provide the LV design, integration, and interface to the PAP MCS motors, mission planning and launch of the LV.
3.5 Demo Systems Engineer Contractor (SEC):
TASC is currently providing SEC services to PAP MCS Demo, including the development of motor specifications and Demo LV requirements documents.
3.6 Agreements
The MAC shall ensure that Associate Contractor Agreements are completed for the following associate contractors:
• LSC
• Tecolote Research, Inc
• Aero Thermo Technology, Inc
• MCR Federal, LLC
• TASC
• ASCONs
If necessary, the MAC shall also ensure that Non-Disclosure Agreements are completed for the above contractors.
4.0 MISSION MILESTONE SCHEDULE

5.0 MISSION ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS
5.1 LSMA PWS MA Requirements
The MAC shall provide Cat2 MA (PWS Section 3.2.2) for this mission.
The TP-01 launch site at VAFB is under development to support the PAP MCS Demo.
The Period of Performance of this effort is estimated to be Apr 2014 thru Oct 2017.

1.1 OVERVIEW
This Mission Information Document (MID) provides the mission assurance requirements for a “Construct 2” MRBM-T1/T2 target system procured by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The US Air Force, Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Rocket Systems Launch Program (RSLP) office, Space Development and Test Directorate (SD)/Launch Systems Division (SDL), will provide the motors for the SM-2.2 mission. MDA is responsible for mission and Launch Vehicle (LV) integration activities.
The baseline launch location for this mission is TBD.
The LSC is responsible for integration of one payload with the LV. The target payload for this mission is CLASSIFIED.
1.2 PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to provide mission-specific information for the SM-2.2 mission assurance effort by identifying the Launch Service Mission Assurance (LSMA) contract Performance Work Statement scope specific to this mission, and to provide
Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Construct 2 activities. This MID will:
a. Identify RSLP mission objectives.
The primary goal of RSLP’s support to the SM-2.2 mission is to support the launch an MRBM-T1/T2 target missile to meet MDA test requirements by providing certified processed motors to MDA and ensuring motor safety/certification through MDA processing and launch activities.
3.0 ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The roles and responsibilities among agencies and contractors that will support the SM-
2.2 mission are described below.
3.1 Customer:
The MDA Targets and Countermeasures Program, located in Huntsville Alabama, has a liaison at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico for motor processing. MDA identifies motor requirements and provides funding to support motor processing and system engineering. MDA technical support contractor is Aerospace Corporation.
3.2 GFE Motor Provider:
SMC/SD, located at Kirtland AFB, NM, is responsible for providing flightworthy motors for the mission in accordance with Construct 2 of the Memorandum of Agreement between SMC and MDA. Within SMC/SD, SDL is the division for Research and Development (R&D) and Space launch missions and is responsible for motor processing, safety, and certification. SDL has an operating location at Hill AFB, Utah where the motors are processed.
The MAC provides Independent Verification and Validation Construct 2 support to SMC/SD in accordance with this MARD.
3.4 Launch Services Contractor (LSC):
MDA has contracted with TBD to provide the target design, integration, vehicle mating, mission planning and launch of the target.
3.5 Agreements

The MAC shall provide Construct 2 support (PWS 3.2.4) and GFE Flight Motor Processing (PWS 3.2.5) to one MRBM-T1/T2 mission.
The MAC shall provide GFE Ground Test Motor Processing (PWS 3.2.6) for LSC developmental testing, RCS characterization, and LSC flight hardware verification testing.
For planning and pricing purposes, the following activity is planned relevant to the GFP motors:
o Weekly GFI/GFX telecon with total of 40 GFI and 25 GFX requests o Bi-weekly motor processing telecon o Two motor processing TIMs for each mission o One motor TIM for each design review o Four weeks observe on-site LSC motor activities o Two weeks observe launch site motor activities o Two launch rehearsals and two launch attempts

This Mission Information Document (MID) provides the mission assurance information for the Orbital Suborbital Program–3 (OSP-3) Lane 1 contract launch of a satellite on an existing design Minotaur IV launch vehicle. SM-3.1 is a space launch mission being sponsored by the Operationally Responsive Space (ORS) Office. The US Air Force, Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Rocket Systems Launch Program (RSLP) office, Space Development and Test Directorate (SD)/Launch Systems Division (SDL), will provide the Launch Vehicle (LV) and launch services for the SM-3.1 mission through the OSP-3 contract. ORS will be responsible for coordination of the Space Vehicle (SV) activities.
The baseline launch location for this mission will be from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS) on Wallops Island.
The LSC is responsible for integration of one space vehicle with the LV. The payload for this mission is UNCLASSIFIED.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 OVERVIEW
This Mission Information Document (MID) provides the mission assurance requirements for a “Construct 2” eMRBM target system procured by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The US Air Force, Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Rocket Systems Launch Program (RSLP) office, Space Development and Test Directorate (SD)/Launch Systems Division (SDL), will provide the motors for the SM-3.5 mission. MDA is responsible for mission and Launch Vehicle (LV) integration activities.
The baseline C-17 deployment location for this mission is Hickam AFB, HI.
The target payload for this mission is CLASSIFIED.
1.2 PURPOSE
The purpose of this document is to provide mission-specific information for the SM-3.5 mission assurance effort by identifying the Launch Service Mission Assurance (LSMA) contract Performance Work Statement scope specific to this mission, and to provide
Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) Construct 2 activities. This MID will:
a. Identify RSLP mission objectives.
The primary goal of RSLP’s support to the SM-3.5 mission is to support the launch an eMRBM target missile to meet MDA test requirements by providing certified processed motors to MDA and ensuring motor safety/certification through MDA processing and launch activities.
3.5 mission are described below.
3.1 Customer:
The MDA Targets and Countermeasures Program, located in Huntsville Alabama, has a liaison at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico for motor processing. MDA identifies motor requirements and provides funding to support motor processing and system engineering. MDA technical support contractor is Aerospace Corporation.
3.2 GFE Motor Provider:
SMC/SD, located at Kirtland AFB, NM, is responsible for providing flightworthy motors for the mission in accordance with Construct 2 of the Memorandum of Agreement between SMC and MDA. Within SMC/SD, SDL is the division for Research and Development (R&D) and Space launch missions and is responsible for motor processing, safety, and certification. SDL has a operating location at Hill AFB, Utah where the motors are processed.
The MAC provides Independent Verification and Validation Construct 2 support to SMC/SD in accordance with this MARD.
MDA has contracted with Lockheed Martin Space Systems Corporation (LMSSC) to provide the target design, integration, vehicle mating, mission planning and launch of the target.

The MAC shall provide Construct 2 support (PWS 3.2.4) and GFE Flight Motor Processing (PWS 3.2.5) to one eMRBM missions.
The MAC shall provide GFE Ground Test Motor Processing (PWS 3.2.6) for LSC flight hardware verification testing.
For planning and pricing purposes, the following activity is planned to continue relevant to the eMRBM GFP motors:
o Bi-Weekly GFI/GFX telecon o Bi-weekly motor processing telecon o Two motor processing TIMs for each mission o Four weeks observe on-site LSC motor activities o Two weeks observe launch site motor activities o Two launch rehearsals and two launch attempts
