About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding federal contract solicitation FA875123Q0144 for Nonlinear Frequency Conversion Devices. The solicitation requires the development of two devices for the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Research Laboratory. Item 0001 requires a periodically-poled device to phase match and convert wavelengths of 493 nm, 716 nm, and 1310 nm. Item 0002 requires a periodically-poled device to phase match and convert wavelengths of 650 nm, 916 nm, and 1550 nm. The questions addressed confirm that each device should have a unique identifier and the identifiers should be kept separate, as there is no way to attach them to individual devices after delivery.

Questions & Answers Document

Q: Since this is cascaded DFGs process, should the output power of first stage DFG (716nm for item 1, 916nm for item 2) need to be considered for applications or specified in the specs?

ITEM 0001

The first stage is periodically-poled to phase match 493 nm + 1581 nm ->716 nm.

The second stage is periodically-poled to phase match 716 nm + 1581nm ->1310 nm.

ITEM 0002

The first stage is periodically-poled to phase match 650 nm + 2238.9 nm-> 916 nm The second stage is periodically-poled to phase match 916 nm + 2238.9nm ->1550 nm”A: One UID per device and keep the UIDs separate as there will be no way to attach them to the devices

A) The 493, 716, and 1310 are the wavelengths of the single photon that is to be converted.
