ADDITIONAL INFORMATION #1
The following represents additional information as of 26 SEP 2017:
Q: In what format should bonds be submitted – e-mailed, original, or other?
A: Bid bonds must accompany bid, whether emailed, mailed, or hand-delivered. If bid is emailed, original bid bond needs to be received by Government no later than 2 days after bid opening.
Payment and performance bonds for any subsequent awardee must be originals.
Q: Is it possible to provide an approximate area of the arched dome roof?
A: No exact figure is available Q: Is it necessary to cover/tarp the small space at the top of the partition wall between Premier Aviation (non-Government, non-scope area) and Government, in-scope space?
A: The space shall be covered with polyethylene sheeting in accordance with NYSDOH CR-56.
Q: Can you please provide clarification for the language highlighted below in red? Attachment 1 on FBO is the “specification manual” - there is no Bid Schedule attached on the FBO listing. Does Attachment 1 in reference to the pricing block on page 3 of the 1442 (the first attachment in FBO) or is there another Bid Schedule that is required to be submitted with this response?
A: The reference to Bid Schedule is a typographical error. There is no Bid Schedule attachment. Offerors will need only to insert their bid at the CLIN description within form SF1442.
Q: Are scrubbers necessary on lift exhausts?
A: No.
Q: To what extent should lead paint be removed?
A: Scrape flakes and areas that show peeling. No grinding is necessary. No solvents or other paint stripping materials will be allowed.
Q: The Government is responsible for cleaning areas 8 foot and less in height. What if a piece of machinery exceeds 8’?
A: The government will be responsible for cleaning the machinery.
Q: What are the liquidated damages (for bonding) and when is the anticipated start date?
A: There are not any liquidated damages associated with this contract.
General Notes:
- The protected causeway/corridor must be built to allow personnel to walk unprotected between work areas to perform daily duties. Construction must be minimally suitable to ensure protected passage. No forklifts or other machinery will pass through.
- Contractors are not responsible for repairing or replacing existing damaged fiberglass insulation, only areas identified on specs and drawings.
- The red bus box passing overhead in workshop areas will remain charged. Power through it will not be turned off during work.
- The dropped ceiling grid in hallway area between workshops will be removed by the Government.
