FA8650-19-S-5009, AMENDMENT 01
Question & Answer and Lab Tour
Federal Agency Name: Air Force Research Laboratory, Materials & Manufacturing Directorate, Structural Materials Division (AFRL/RXC)
Broad Agency Announcement Title: Research in Nondestructive Evaluation Methods for Materials State Awareness
Broad Agency Announcement Type: Amendment 01
Broad Agency Announcement Number: FA8650-19-S-5009
This amendment provides answers to questions received by the Government, and announces a tour of the Material State Awareness Branch (AFRL/RXCA) laboratory.
QUESTION & ANSWER:
Q-1: Can you please clarify if contractor facilities are authorized as a place of performance, or is the expectation that all work performed under this BAA will be performed at Wright-Patterson, AFB OH?
Answer to Q-1: The expectation for TO 0001 is that all work will be performed on-site at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH (see scope paragraph of TO 0001 SOO). Depending on future Government needs, potential future task orders may be performed either on-site at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH or at a contractor’s facility.
Q-2: With regard to the research facilities and base support equipment, can you comment on which items are currently covered under service contracts?
Answer to Q-2: None of the base support equipment or research facilities listed in Attachment 4 of the BAA are currently covered under service contracts.
LAB TOUR:
The lab tour will be held on 04 April 2019.
Up to three (3) representatives may attend from each company (no Foreign Nationals).
The tour will begin at 1:00 PM EST, and is expected to take one hour.
To attend you are required to RSVP and submit a visitor’s request to gain temporary access to Wright-Patterson AFB. Submit the following: full name (as it appears on your driver’s license), email address, driver’s license number, and state of issue. This information is required to run a background check. Due to privacy concerns, submission cannot be completed via email. Submissions can be accomplished by calling John Wertz at (937) 255-2718 NO LATER THAN 28 March 2019. Requests submitted later than this date will likely result in delays in obtaining base access, potentially resulting in company representatives being unable to attend the tour. Passes will be emailed at least one day in advance of the lab tour. If you do not receive a pass via email, visitors must visit Pass and Registration, located in Area A, Building 286, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Please ensure that you budget extra time on 04 April 2019 if you need to go to Pass and Registration.
