Cannon AFB, NM Questions/Answers Set 2 7 March 2023 Questions/Responses:

Small parts conveyor

1. conveyor on top of mezzanine shows to be accumulation. In the specification for this conveyor, it states that the whole conveyor system should have controls to be able to go forward and reverse. The conveyor can be controlled to do that but there would not be accumulation. Just need some clarification if it needs to be reversible in both directions or just one direction with accumulation?

-The conveyor should be reversible according to section 3.2.3.6 and the upper level section shall be live roller accumulation as detailed in 3.2.2.14. The ability to travel forward/reverse as detailed should not conflict with the ability of the upper level section to accumulate.

2. What are the max/min box sizes and weight that would be running on this conveyor?

-Section 3.2.2.11 details the size of the tote pans/boxes to be provided (6”H x 12”L x 18”W) with a weight capacity of 150 pounds.

4. The electrical section on the mezzanine appendix only mentions lights being provided. It does not mention whether light switches or motion lighting are required, or if exit signs are required (occasionally these are asked for). Please clarify what is needed to turn the lights on.

-Light switches to control the lights shall be located near each staircase. Appendix A has been updated to detail this requirement.

5. Can you please clarify the original question asked about the electrical panels? The last question was answered by showing where current electrical is located on the drawing. The Cover PD para 3.2.2.1.1 makes it sound like we are supposed to be running power from an electrical room of some sort to new breaker box panels and circuits though to use just for the equipment associated with this project. Is this the case, or are we using existing panels and breakers to power this equipment?

-An existing breaker box/panels shall be utilized to power this system, a new breaker box will not be required.
