Cannon AFB, NM Questions/Answers Set 1 2 March 2023 Questions/Responses:

1. Cover PD

3.2.2.1 States the contractor must run power from the power source to the equipment no more than 200 feet but it does not state where these panels are to be located. This mezzanine appears to be in the middle of a hanger, are the panels to be on the adjacent wall closest to outside or to be on the mezzanine?

-Drawing ZCN102 has been updated to reflect the location of the existing power source.

2. Appendix A – Mezzanine There are safety harness tie offs on the drawing, but no specs listed in the appendix? Are these required, and if so, are harnesses also required?

For the sprinklers, how far away is the tie in point?

-Harnesses are not required to be provided, just tie off points for them to be connected to. Appendix A has been updated to provide specifications for the tie off points. Existing sprinklers are located on the ceiling of the hanger above the proposed location of the mezzanine.

3. Appendix B – 463L GRC Fixed stops are mentioned twice, but no removable stops are not listed in the specs, they are noted on the drawing though but only for the upper level? Are these required, and if so how many, and what dimensions/specifications are required?

- Section 3.2.8 has been updated to provide specifications for removable pallet stops as they will be required. Drawing ZCN102 has been updated to reflect locations of removable pallet stops on lower level.

Tine deflectors are not mentioned in the specs by name, is para 3.2.11 for frame protectors the normal tine deflectors asked for with this GRC? Can you please supply a spec to follow if required?

- Section 3.2.11 which provided these requirements has been reworded to eliminate any confusion.

Normally the specs call for hardwood or steel to be in the GRC frame to protect it from fork tine damage, is it no longer required?

- Section 3.2.11 which provided these requirements has been reworded to eliminate any confusion.

The drawing shows flared guiderail at the beginning and end of the GRC, but the specs do not mention it. Normally only the front needs to be flared as you won’t be able to access the conveyor with a forklift from the back. Is this required?

-Flared sections of guiderail are only required on the forklift interface sides. Drawing ZCN102 has been updated to address this.

4. Appendix C – VRC There is no disconnect mentioned, but they are normally required?

- Appendix C has been updated with requirements for a quick disconnect for the VRC.

5. “Section 3.1.1.3 of Appendix C requests handrails and kickplates on the lift platform. We would not provide anything including handrails. It automatically purposes the equipment for personnel. Can the spec be updated to remove the handrail and kickplate to comply with the standards for non-personnel equipment?”

-While the VRC is only designed for equipment use, personnel will access the platform while loading/unloading the system and thus the handrails and kickplates shall be required.
