Question and Answer Set #6

With respect to 3.2.11

3.2.11. MECHANICAL CONTROL

Each carousel shall have some means of operation, such as a hand crank, which shall rotate the carriers in the case of a power outage or maintenance requirements. The mechanism shall easily and manually rotate the carriers and shall be easily accessible.

Alternatively we would rotate the carriers as follows:

1. Dual motor drives, standard on all units, provide increased reliability in high activity environments, as one motor will continue to drive the unit should the other fail. No need to use a hand-crank to rotate a downed machine.

2. Emergency safety bypass system is the immediate solution to light curtain alignment problems or other safety system failures. Simply activate the safety bypass on the keypad, close the access door and the machine will run safely as expected. No need to use a hand-crank to rotate a downed machine.

3. Microprocessor control override switch is standard on all machines provides an immediate drive alternative in case of a keypad failure. The operator will not have to resort to hand cranks to pull inventory!

Given the ability to access generator power in the event of a power outage, any of the above options will provide faster access to carriers in the event of a power outage. We believe we fully comply with the requirements of 3.2.11 as we are providing multiple means of operation in the event of a power outage or maintenance requirement.

There shall be no changes regarding this requirement. The user requires a manual hand crank upon power failure.
