ACTIVE SHOOTER MITIGATION - CONTROL BYPASS SYSTEM

Q&A

1. How many doors will open?

45 to 50 doors

2. How many doors will lock?

No doors would need to be locked with this system.

3. How many fire curtain doors?

7 fire doors would need to be active.

4. Will this tie into their existing access control system(s) – if yes, This would depend on if it is tied into the fire panels or if you bypass the fire panel. The fire panels currently activate all door to open and all fire doors to close. If the goal is for the system is to bypass the fire panels, then it would have to be installed on to the current Software House system to open the doors and a controller to activate the fire doors.

• What system do you have?

Software House

• What is the version currently active?

Secure 9000

• Is there other system also connected?

Simplex fire panel

5. What is the desired communication path for notification of the BDOC?

Thru the current path of that the bases duress alarm system. This would be the preferred method.

• Do you have an ACS?

yes

• Alternatively, the report of an active shooter could be by observer who calls it into the BDOC. Do you need a remote connection for the ACS to unlock doors and drop fire curtain doors?

Currently if an event was to happen, we would contact BDOC by phone, radio, or duress button.

This takes time and could cause delays. We are looking for single item that would do it all with minimizing delays and maximizing time for egress.

6. Floor plans will be provided upon request.
