Question and Answer
14 Feb 2014
Question: “Do the wheels actually have to retract or is letting gravity bring trailer down when wheel cylinder pressure is released good enough?”
Answer: No the wheels do not have to retract, and yes, once the pressure release valve is opened, the trailer will lower due to its weight/gravity.
Question: “Is it correct that in PD 3.5 Table II that the minimum height without spacers of 29 inches refers to the trailer with the lift cylinders completely lowered and the wheel cylinders with the wheels lifted up all the way and the trailer frame on the ground?”
Answer: This measurement is intended for the trailer in air transportable mode/configuration. Yes, it is correct that in PD 3.2 Table II that the minimum required height is 29 inches without spacers and does refer to the trailer with the lift cylinders completely lowered and the wheel cylinders with the wheels lifted up all the way and the trailer frame on the ground.
