Question 1: The current air hoist is chain, the SOW has requested a wire rope hoist, which offers less lift height. Is an electric chain hoist acceptable?
Answer 1: Yes, an electric chain hoist is acceptable.
Question 2: The existing hoist has a max hook height of 10'3", 12' is requested in the SOW. Is 10'3" acceptable?
Answer 2: Yes, 10'3" is acceptable and should have been the original height requested in the SOW.
Question 3: Will the shop still be working during the retrofit?
Answer 3: Yes, part of the shop will still be working during the retrofit, but production located underneath the hoist/crane will cease until retrofit completed.
Question 4: What is the linear footage, including rise and fall from the electrical panel location to the landing gear shop. (overall footage of conduit required)? Shop layout drawing available?
Answer 4: Total length including rise and fall from power panel to the closest gantry leg is approximately 38 to 40 feet. I do not have a drawing of the shop that I can provide.
Question 5: Is the technical information for the existing crane available (factory specifications)?
Answer 5: The hoist is a Chester Hoist, Model ALP0200S. It can be found on the chesterhoist.com.
Question 6: Due to the short runway and asset being lifted, 120 fpm is an unsafe travel speed, is this correct?
Answer 6: I do not know what is considered unsafe, but a motor with a variable speed up 120 fpm would be acceptable, especially if maximum limits can be set during installation and usage.
Question 7: Due to the positioning required to place asset in fixture is 65 fpm correct for trolley speed?
Answer 7: A motor with a variable speed up 65 fpm would be acceptable, especially if maximum limits can be set during installation and usage.
