Vendor Questions
1. Do we know how many coils are currently damaged and in need of replacement?
2. Can I get a couple pictures of the roof, specifically where the supply and return water piping penetrate the roof, and at the connections at the coil on the outside of the unit?
3. Can I also get the spec sheet of the existing unit?
1. What will the requirements be or permits that we will have to have to be able to air lift equipment to the roof or have will everything have to be done with a crane and carts?
2. Can you provide me with pictures of the existing MUA units model and serial numbers and any other information on the equipment tag?
Government Response
1. 12 of the 18 coils (there are 6 coils per MAU) either currently have leaks, or have been repaired in the past. At minimum, all of these shall be replaced.
2. See Figure 1 and 2, below. These pictures are representative of all three MAUs.
3. See Attachment 1. Other than serial numbers, the MAUs are identical.
1. The existing coils are not the original coils. These were transported to the roof via industrial elevator within the building. Because the MAUs are not being replaced, this elevator should be sufficient to transport equipment and materials to roof level. If capacity is not sufficient, then crane and carts would be the preferred method of transport. Airlift is possible, but should be avoided due to extensive coordination and permitting requirements.
2. See answer to question 3 above.
