SITE VISIT QUESTIONS/ANSWERS 16 JULY 2014

Regarding questions posed at this morning's walk-through for the range cleaning project:

1. Distance from the outside of the metal legs (closest to the walkway area) supporting the bullet trap conveyor belt system to a point 3-1/2" above the floor level at the sloped bullet-trap ramp is 23'-0". Measurement made by laser rangefinder.

2. "Spun-fiber" acoustical panels behind shooting positions have been identified by the installing contractor as "Tectum Finalé Panels". These are cementitious aspen wood fiber panels. Per the manufacturer, these panels "should be prevented from coming into contact with water if at all possible." The wood binder is water-based, so water may draw or pull the binder out. Otherwise, the panels may also become stained. Given these adverse reactions, the Statement of Objective is hereby modified to specify only dry HEPA-vacuuming of all surfaces covered with acoustic fiber panels. They will not be damp-mopped or damp-wiped with water/TSP solution or otherwise wetted. Panels will be masked or covered with a waterproof barrier if nearby surfaces are to be sprayed or wetted to prevent them from becoming wet.
