QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS 5 June 2014

1) Can the contractor obtain cleaning water from the bathroom sink?

A. No, they may decontaminate themselves and use the toilets/urinals if desired. However, the Statement of Objective says the government will provide water through a fire hydrant located next to the facility. The Contractor must provide a working back flow preventer device to access the hydrant.

2) Is there a shower on site for the contractor's use?

A. No, there is a shower in the rest room for government building occupant use only. The Contractor will provide their own decontamination/shower trailer or other facilities they deem necessary.

3) Please verify that CLIN 0002 indicates a total quantity of one cleaning.

A.The intent is to award three not more than six. Price a per cleaning or EACH

4) Is the bullet trap steel or rubber berm?

A. There is a steel plate ramp with a centrifugal/friction deceleration chamber. There is no rubber involved.

5) What type of surfaces is on the shooters stations, walls and ceiling?

Concrete, steel, sound baffles, etc.?

A. The main firing bay area from shooter occupied area to the bullet trap ramp is smooth sealed concrete. Under and behind the ramp it is rougher and unsealed. Walls from about ten feet out from the occupied firing line are unpainted, unsealed masonry block. Control cab wall (behind shooters) is covered with sound attenuation panels approximately 2" thick. They are mad of a hard, "spun" type of material. Cannot tell if they are waterproof, so recommend HEPA vacuuming/damp wiping them. Ceiling from back wall to firing line is basic drop ceiling with acoustic tiles. Again recommend HEPA vacuuming/damp wiping these. From firing line out approximately 8 feet, ceiling is covered with black acoustic foam. This should also be HEPA vacuuming/damp wiped. Beyond that to the bullet trap the ceiling is baffled steel plates, some covered with rubber sheeting. Lights and other fixtures requiring HEPA vacuuming followed by masking are located in the space between the angled baffles.
