Aircraft Parking Apron

Aircraft Parking Apron ver.1

1. No bid bond unless greater than $150,000?

Answer: Per solicitation amendment 2: Bid Bond is required for all bids

2. No email bid? (everyone is allowing emailed bids now) :

Answer: We will accept bids by email- see solicitation amendment 2

3. Asphalt Surface Area 940 SY. What type of work is this? Your specs seem to indicate chip seal? Do you really want chip seal at an airport? Size of the areas that make up the 940 sy?

Answer: 940 square yards is the estimated total surface area of the asphalt that requires crack sealing and fog coating.

The specifications include guidelines for the amount of bituminous material in the seal coat;

however, the specification does indicate that quantities may need to be adjusted depending on the roughness of the surface texture. The areas being sealed are intended for service vehicles and utility trucks, not for aircraft traversal.

Regarding the size of the areas that make up the 940 square yards, I refer to Drawing Sheet C- 06 (Site Plan: Asphalt Crack Sealing Areas) for the geometry and sizing.

4. Also when do you anticipate the proposed start date for this project to be?

Answer: Once bid close and reviewed for acceptance, we will notify awarded contractor to schedule kickoff meeting. After discussion and scheduling, we will provide NTP letter with appropriate date we agree upon.

5. I see we have 20 calendar days to do the job from notice to proceed, do you know when a notice to proceed would be issued?

Answer: We will make sure 20 days are provided based on our kickoff meeting discussion to ensure reasonable timeline and expectation
