Attachment 5 ‐ Questions and Answers
1. Will you accept the technical capability narrative to be in Spanish or must it be in English?
We can accept the technical capability narrative in Spanish.
2. Is there an possibility of joint seals being damaged with paint removal? Will the contractor be responsible for these repairs?
PWS, section 1.1.a. establishes: Remove the indicated apron markings without damaging the markings to remain, pavement, slab joints, sealants, aircraft static grounding tie downs, fuel hydrants and fuel grounds. PWS, Appendix A, section 3.3 establishes: Provide water pressure impact upon the indicated pavement areas sufficient to remove the designated rubber and paint to the required degree of removal without damaging the existing pavement, joint sealant, or other airfield appurtenances. The Contractor is responsible for repairing any damage caused by the removal work.
3. The timeframe states written out “one hundred twenty” days, but the numerical value in parenthesis is “150” days. Which amount of days is it?
There is a mistake on section 1.4 of PWS about the performance period of the contract. The performance period estimated by the Government for the contract is one hundred fifty (150) calendar days. On the other hand, that section establishes: The contractor shall provide his estimated deadline with his proposal.
3. Is it mandatory to attend the site visit?
No. It is not mandatory. The site visit is a chance for contractors to come and evaluate the site first hand and provide a more competitive proposal.
