MEMORANDUM FOR 496 ABS/LGC

FROM: 496 ABS/CEN

SUBJECT: Requirement Clarifications for Project QUUG 13-1012, RPR Gym Water Seepage Through Exterior

1. Duration of equipment moving

The Contractor has to move the required equipment from the Fitness Center to the determined location (LAMS Shelter) and has to reinstall them at the LAMS Shelter before he starts the real construction work. The maximum period for the moving and reinstallation of the equipment is 5 labor days.

2. CrossFit bar moving

The CrossFit bar is bolted to the floor. This equipment has not be moved to the determined location (LAMS Shelter) during the project execution. Is shall remain where it is installed in the Fitness Center. The Contractor shall protect it to avoid damaging it during the project execution.

3. Cable crossover machine moving

This equipment must be moved to the determined location (LAMS Shelter) before the Contractor starts the real construction work to avoid damaging it during the project execution. The Contractor has to install it in the LAMS Shelter. After the completion of the construction work, the Contractor has to move it back to the Fitness Center installing it at the same place where it is installed.

4. Option CLIN

This option corresponds to the potential replacement of the steel structure as it is indicated on Paragraph 1.1.3.c.. That Paragraph establishes: Once the sandblasting treatment has been applied to the steel elements, a loss of section test will be developed to determinate if the condition of the steel elements is acceptable. If it is required, the damage elements shall be replaced or reinforced.

As it is indicated on the construction cost estimate breakdown developed for this option only, which includes one line item only, the contractor has to submit the cost for the structure reinforcement and replacement of pillars, anchorage plates, joints and other elements, including temporary & auxiliary resources and calculations for new elements.

The quantity to be estimated by the Contractor for this line item has to correspond to all the steel elements that potentially could be reinforced and replaced based on the results of the loss of section test.

5. Flooring at the Fitness Center and at the LAMS Shelter

The existing flooring at the Fitness Center shall remain, i.e., the rubber tiles shall not be relocated at LAMS Shelter before the real construction work and, therefore, these rubber tiles shall not be relocated at the Fitness Center after the completion of the construction work.

The Contractor has to protect the flooring remained at the Fitness Center with a one continuous polyethylene layer, 400 gauge thickness, on the rubber tiles plus 2 layers of MDF panels of 19 mm of thickness as minimum on the polyethylene layer. These 2 layers of MDF panels have to be placed in 2 directions, i.e., one MDF panel layer has to be placed in one direction and the second layer has to be placed perpendicular to the first one. The joints of both MDF panel layers have to be staggered. The polyethylene layer shall be folded over 1-meter width of the second MDF panel layer along its perimeter edge. The width o. The contractor shall have the option to secure both layers of MDF panels with screws. These screws shall not go beyond the first placed MDF panel layer to avoid damaging the rubber tiles. The Contractor shall established the maximum screw spacing.

The Contractor has to protect the existing concrete floor of the LAMS Shelter placing a one continuous polyethylene layer, 400 gauge thickness, on the concrete floor plus 2 layers of MDF panels of 19 mm of thickness as minimum on the polyethylene layer. These 2 layers of MDF panels have to be placed in 2 directions, i.e., one MDF panel layer has to be placed in one direction and the second layer has to be placed perpendicular to the first one. The joints of both MDF panel layers have to be staggered The polyethylene layer shall be folded over 1-meter width of the second MDF panel layer along its perimeter edge. The contractor shall secure both layers of MDF panels with screws. These screws shall not go beyond the first placed MDF panel layer to avoid damaging the concrete floor. The Contractor shall space the screws so that there is no level difference between the surfaces of two adjacent MDF panels.

The Contractor shall replace no more than 25% of the MDF panels installed at the LAMS Shelter if they are damaged for any reason.
