MEMORANDUM FOR ALL INTERESTED PARTIES

Amendment 2 – The purpose of this amendment is to include clause 52.217-9 Option to extend the term of the contract, update the period of performance and quantities of vehicles requested, and add a maintenance service agreement.
1. This combined synopsis/solicitation for RFQ FA5240-17-Q-M002 will be subject to clause:
52.217-9 OPTION TO EXTEND THE TERM OF THE CONTRACT (MAR 2000)
(a) The Government may extend the term of this contract by written notice to the Contractor any date prior to expiration of contract period of performance provided that the Government gives the Contractor a preliminary written notice of its intent to extend at least 10 days before the contract expires. The preliminary notice does not commit the Government to an extension.
(b) If the Government exercises this option, the extended contract shall be considered to include this option clause.
(c) The total duration of this contract, including the exercise of any options under this clause, shall not exceed 141 days.

3. Maintenance Servicing:
a. The contractor is responsible for providing maintenance servicing and repairs to keep the vehicles in good operating condition throughout the duration of this agreement to include:
i. Planned service and maintenance (including materials, oil, grease, and lubricants) in accordance with the manufacturer’s schedules, recommendations, and warranty regulations
ii. Any further items of maintenance, repair or replacement including engine overhauls or replacement, overhauls of major components, and rectification of other mechanical defects, except where due to our negligence, misuse, or abuse;
iii. Any testing as required by any statute statutory regulation for the time being in force;
iv. Anti-Freeze
v. Replacement of all tires, batteries, and exhausts required as a result of faulty manufacture or fair wear and tear
b. The Government is responsible for:
vi. Taking proper and responsible care of the vehicle at all times
vii. Regular checks for radiator coolant levels, battery, tires, brake fluid and engine oil levels and adjusting where necessary
viii. All fuel consumed by the vehicle (while in our possession)
ix. Notifying the contractor (as soon as possible) after the vehicle becomes un-roadworthy from mechanical breakdown or accidental damage
x. Making the vehicle available to the contractor for maintenance at the due date or mileage according to the manufacturers servicing schedule, as displayed in the vehicle handbook.
