The following are responses to the questions submitted for about project.

1. Can you please provide the attachments referenced in the SOW

Response: Mr. Dougherty supplied.

2. Are there indeed fire sprinklers located in the rooms? None were seen at the site visit

Response: After further inspection, there is no fire sprinkler system throughout the rooms. There are however, fire alarms.

3. Do the exterior walls get demo out for any new communications, electrical, etc.

Response: No, prior to demolition, 673rd Comm will take care of the lines and re-install upon completion of remodel.

4. Do we match the Oak chair rail and oak base trim as seen in rm 361.

Response: Yes, we would like all trim to match room 361’s.

5. Do the wood doors get knock down or welded frames?

Response: We would like all door frames to be welded for a better overall appearance.

6. Do you have any specs for the room signage?

Response: Room signage will be the same size and style as what is on the doors presently. Verbiage will likely stay the same as well. Picture will be supplied.

7. SOW section 3.5.2 states, Contractor must supply an additional 5 panels, can you please expand on what panels we need to supply?

Response: Section 3.5.2 is in reference to ceiling panels and should have been included in that section (3.4.2) rather than under finishes. We request an additional 5 panels as extras.

8. Do you have any SPECs on the glass doors we are matching in rm 361?

Response: Doorframe dimensions (opening width – 76”, opening height- 85 3/8”).

Glass doors- 35 5/8”x 83 3/8”

9. SOW section 1.3 states, occupants throughout the hallway will need safe access throughout the duration of the project. Will the entire suite 265 stay an active and occupied area during the project?

Response: The plan is to have those Personnel either telework or have some sort of temporary workspace.

10. Attachment 4 office layout, Room CCC wall line is 15’ 7-1/2”. Is this measurement to be center of wall, outside or inside of wall?

Response: The measurement is to the inside of the wall.

11. Do we need any special clearances to work on the SIPRnet system?

Response: No, the communication lines will not be part of the scope of work. 673rd Comm will be doing this.

12. Please confirm if the GWB on the exterior walls will need replaced with new GWB? If so, has any HAZMAT testing been completed?

Response: No the exterior drywall on walls do not need to be demolished and/or replaced.

13. Please clarify SOW 3.6.2. for industry standard countertops. A countertop with a rolled backsplash is limited on color availability. Custom countertops with PLAM are available in various colors. Also, will solid surface countertops desired.

Response: A plastic laminate countertop is acceptable, however the government would like to receive a sample of the counter and backsplash prior to install.

14. With the new layout will the heat detectors need to be relocated per the JBER Fire Department?

Also, will the heat detectors need tested by the contractor?

Response: Heat detection is required in every room, including the closet, and larger rooms and the open area/PRSC wing corridor may require more based on the rating of the detectors, but not per our office...per UFC 3-600-01, Chapter 9, and NFPA 72. Fire alarm audible and visual notification will have to be relocated/installed in common areas (i.e. conference room and kitchen), the open/corridor area, and in all offices that may contain two or more persons at any one time (i.e. two or more chairs in the room with or without work surfaces) in accordance with NFPA 72, ABA, and UFC 3-600-01, 9-18.6. All moved/installed fire detection/protection system components will have to be tested by the contractor and witnessed by our office. Construction (shop) drawings and calculations must be prepared by an individual that has obtained National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), Fire Alarm Systems, Level III certification, at a minimum (UFC 3-600-01, 9-18.2). We request 10 workday notice prior acceptance tests.

15. Will the SIPR Room need any special cooling or ventilation needs?

Response: No, there is no current cooling system for the comm equipment and that there will actually be no need to have anything installed by the contractor.

16. Will the contractor need to provide only the raceway for the SIPR or cabling as well? If so, who is responsible for final termination?

Response: No, all cabling for NIPR will be run through the walls. SIPR will be addressed another time.

Both being taken care of by 673d Communication Squadron.

17. Will a trash chute be acceptable for debris removal?

Response: Due to exterior renovations on building 10471 we would prefer for there to be no trash chute for trash removal.

18. SOW 3.3.2. Indicates 2 sets of metal glass double doors. Where are these to be located and is the current glass doors at the entry to the area to be replaced?

Response: Yes the current glass entry doors need to be removed and replaced with a set of double doors mirroring suite 360’s. The other set of double doors need to mirror suite 360’s as well, placement will be down the hallway running parallel with the end of the PM’s room. Ultimately closing off the hallway, reveals the large open common area when open.

19. If glass entry is to be replaced is there a fire rating?

Response: All parts of the glass entry door, including the glass must be a minimum 20 minute fire rated, and glass requires the additional D or D-W rating (e.g. D-W-20); any sidelight or transom glass must be D-H-W45 fire resistant rated, and their framing must be a minimum 45 minute fire rated; and wall assembly must be 1-hour fire resistant rated.

20. 9. SOW 1.8 states the contractor is to create and provide drawings for approval before starting work. Will the contractor need to supply these drawings in a CADD file and PDF for review and final closeout, to include wall types that would be derived from the UFC Building Code?

Response: Yes both a CADD file and PDF will need to be supplied.

21. Will the drawings be subject to JBER Fire Department review for any rated wall type configurations, rated doors, heat detectors, and fire alarm?

Response: Yes we will submit the drawings to the fire dept. for review. Their turnaround time is 10 workdays.

22. Please confirm SOW 3.10.2. for sprinkler head locations.

Response: Disregard, there are no sprinklers throughout.

23. Can a count of light fixtures and HVAC ceiling diffusers to be replaced be confirmed?

Response: Light fixtures- 58, HVAC diffusers- 12-14 (2 variance of style)
