Questions and Answers

366 RANS TRAILERS

25 May 2021

1) Insulation - Would the Government be interested in an insulated floor as well? This would greatly enhance the ability to localize the condition space within the trailer.

a. YES.

2) Could the Government provide the exact dimensions for the location of the 14” x 14” access doors?

a. YES, Front lower corner of trailer, forward of main door. The intent is to have the access door under the fold down table in the front to allow cables to connect to the work station.

3) What is the intended layout of the 22 recessed D-Rings?

a. 3 rows down the length of the trailer, (one in the center and one along each side wall). Spaced roughly 3 feet apart

4) Is the intent of the 47,000lb D-Rings to be able to support aerial lift of the trailer?

a. YES, we plan to air lift the trailers

5) Is there a specific ground clearance requirement, from Frame to Ground?

a. 19-20”

6) Would the Government accept a spray-in polyurea/polyurethane liner in lick of the tread plate floor and kickplate? Spray-in liners are becoming the standard in reinforced flooring as they are stringer and water/fluid resistant.

a. No.

7) 2. Requirements: document references qty. of “seven (6) mobile trailers” is it seven or six?

a. The total number of trailers is 6

8) 2.1 Physical Characteristics: Is the trailer to be Steel or Aluminum frame.

a. Aluminum is preferred to make the trailer lighter/steel is acceptable if the trailer stays within the weight GVWR

9) The specs require a screwless exterior side wall and skins. Aluminum top and Front (NO

ABS or FIBERGLASS). Does the NO ABS or FIBERGLASS include the sides?

a. The NO ABS and Fiberglass does include the sides

10) 2.3.3 Trailer Jacks: Are the scissor style stabilizer jack’s manual or electric?

a. The trailer should have an electronic leveling system with the ability to manually override the stabilizer jacks

11) 2.4 Electrical Requirements: There is mention of “countertop receptacles” – I do not see anywhere they request a countertop.

a. The countertop receptacles are to be placed above the fold down work bench table on the front wall of the trailer

12) Are the Interior 48” LED lights 12V or 120V?

a. The LED lights should be 12 v so we can operate them with or without generator power applied (with batteries if needed)

13) Are the exterior “Load Lights” mounted on stainless brackets supposed to be extendable or fix mounted?

a. The exterior lights can be fixed mounted

14) There is mention of a “Passenger Side Awning” – is this 12V or 120V electric operated?

a. The awning can be either 12v or 120v (whichever is more efficient)

15) Confirm the interior height of these trailers. Max exterior height also good to obtain since they intend to airlift them too.

a. The interior height should be 7 feet with the total trailer height not to exceed 10 feet. . The goal is to airlift them or also load the trailer on a commercial contracted low boy trailer without exceeding DOT maximum height of 14 feet.

16) They are asking for an entry door that's 36" x 64" (2.3.1.1), which sure does sound small as its not even five and a half feet tall. Is this really what we're doing here? The short door and low profile ACs would imply a low height trailer, but they are also asking for 19" of ground clearance, so that doesn't match up to low profile...

a. The front entry door should be a 36 inch wide standard man door under the awning side of the trailer with a 36 inch driver side ramp door.

17) "They don't list an interior height, but the dimensions they give for the cabinets require at least 69.25 (not even six feet), so how much height are we trying to give them? I have to imagine they would like standing height, so how far do we go?

a. The interior upper cabinets can be just big enough to enclose the furnace, so whatever the size that is needed to enclose the furnace, the remaining cabinets can match those dimensions.

18) Part of my concern with height is for the ramps (rear and side) as the framing they are after, and the ground clearance, puts the floor at 31" (rather high), so a low interior height keeps the ramps short, which makes for a very steep ramp. Again, how much interior height are we shooting for here?

a. We are wanting to maximize the interior height to improve the ramp incline and stay under the 14 feet total height if loaded on a low boy trailer.
