About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation FA462625Q0009 regarding a HICS Shoring Device procurement by the Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command.

The document contains two questions and answers related to technical specifications of the shoring device. The first clarifies that the trench depth will be variable rather than a fixed 10-foot depth. The second addresses concerns about weight limitations, confirming that multiple 3-foot length aluminum boxes can be used in a modular fashion to achieve the required 40-foot total system length while maintaining individual box weights under 1,000 pounds. The remainder of the 30 numbered question slots are blank.

Questions and Answers

Question # Question Answer

1 Is the entire trench 10’ deep or is it variable? The trench's depth will be variable.

Keeping a 10’ tall aluminum box under 1,000 lbs. is going to put the length at 3’. Is that going to work for this application or can the assembled weight limit be increased?

Given the system’s modularity, using multiple boxes measuring 3 feet in length to achieve the desired 40-foot length of the system is acceptable.
