Q&A_21 May 18
1. Is it required for all of the walls to be moveable?
A: Yes all the walls must be moveable, with the exception of the exterior walls of the shoot house.
2. What is the height of the lights?
A: The lights are currently 14.5 feet high. They will be raised by the time of contract.
3. Is it required for the floor to be a certain material in regards to cleaning? Porous or not porous?
A: No, how porous the floor material is, is not an issue.
4. Is the contractor required to furnish the bathroom/install plumming?
A: No, the bathroom is just another room. The contractor does not need to install plumming or any fixtures.
5. Are tiles acceptable for the rubber floors?
A: Yes, as long as they do not slide around while an individual is walking on them, rubber tiles are acceptable.
6. Are all of the hallways required to be the same width?
A: Yes.
7. Are hallways slightly less than 4 feet wide acceptable?
A: Yes, 3.5 to 5 feet wide hallways is acceptable. The Statement of Work will be adjusted accordingly.
8. What is the load rating on the strusses?
A: N/A, the catwalk has been removed from the requirement. Please see the updated
Statement of Work, dated 5/21/18.
9. Do contractors need an escort for install?
A: Yes. SFS will have an escort pool that will be available to get individuals to and from
Building 80.
10. If the installation crew is unable to get a semi to Building 80 due to road conditions, will a staging area be provided so that the contractor may store the materials and ferry them to building 80?
A: Yes, if the awardee is unable to get a semi to Building 80, a staging area will be provided.
11. Will the main 60' Hallway walls running east/west need to be moveable or will they be fixed?
A: The main hallway walls will need to be moveable.
12. Is it acceptable for the system to be overhead supported (self-supported) in lieu of sitting on the floor?
A: Yes, the structure can be overhead supported.
13. Is the intent for [us] to provide the mezzanine which creates the second floor, is there already a structure in place (concrete or similar) or is the 2nd floor simply a catwalk?
A: N/A, the catwalk has been removed from the requirement. Please see the updated
Statement of Work, dated 5/21/18.
14. I see the rooms they want, but do they want all the walls to be flexible and reconfigurable quickly/easily or are they looking for a more permanent wall solution?
A: We would like the perimeter wall to be permanent but the interior walls that create the hallways and rooms to be flexible.
15. System to be secured to the floor with anchor bolts which make the system completely modular and removable easily. Is this acceptable?
A: Yes, the system can be secured to the floor with anchor bolts.
*After thorough review of the requirement by the 509 Civil Engineering Squadron, it has been decided that the contractor may use anchor bolts into the prexisting concrete to hold the structure in place. As long as the bolts can be removed easily, anchor bolts are acceptable to be used on the requriement.*
