Dual Spindle Lathe Statement of Work (SOW)
1. Scope: This product description provides the minimum requirements for a dual spindle turning center suitable for maufacture of a variety of metallic and non-metallic products used in military aircraft maintenance. This turning center shall offer limited milling ability to reduce the need for multiple setups for one part. The work covered by the provisions of this contract consists of furnishing all labor, tools, equipment and supplies necessary to install the complete turning center and its components. The contractor is responsible for:
a. Procurement of components and equipment. The system will be assembled and tested for proper operation. Customer documentation will be prepared, including manuals and training materials for maintenance and normal operation.
b. Deliver complete system and perform installation to include system conformance testing in accordance with applicable manufacturer guidelines which will be provided by the contractor to the 92 Maintenance Squadron Metals Technology shop upon arrival. After acceptance testing, contractor will provide 2 consecutive days of operator training. System training materials from the vendor/contractor will be delivered concurrent with installation.
2. Classification: The system described in this SOW is classified as a complete lathe turning center, employing not only the ability to machine as a CNC lathe, but also as a limited CNC milling machine. The state of the art dual spindle characteristic of this lathe enables the user to perform only the initial setup to complete a work piece saving hours of additional setup time.
