FA4608-16-R-0003- Spring Rubber Removal

Questions and Answers

2. Will the contractor be able to dispose of the water from cleaning the runway on site or will it have to be removed from the site?

On base within three miles of the job.

3. Would like to confirm comment made that the contractor will just paint over the existing runway lines and there will not have to be any removal of existing lines. There will be removal when the runway rubber is removed but no additional action will be required.

Partial paint removal will be applied to all paint schemes on the runway except the edge lines. This is basically a “cleaning” of the markings so that a new coat of paint will adhere properly.

4. Will we be able to set up and leave our equipment on the runway overnight or will it have to move to a storage yard?

Can be stored off the runway within a quarter mile of the runway, inside the controlled area.

5. Is the rubber residue going to be considered hazard waste? On page 4 of 12 of the Environmental Requirements for Contractors Working on Barksdale Air

Force Base, dated October 2014, it states all hazard waste will be disposed of by the base.

Not hazardous waste.

6. What is the alternate plan if the weather is not compliant during the scheduled weekend?

We will plan for an upcoming weekend depending on local weather conditions and flight line priorities.
