About this file
This document contains questions and answers from a site visit for a firing range cleanup contract at Minot Air Force Base. The contract is to provide monthly cleaning of buckets and HEPA filters for an air handling system at the firing range according to a performance work statement. The Air Force will provide 55-gallon barrels and filter containers, and will clear snow from areas where filter changing will take place. Contractors do not need 40-hour HAZWOPER training but must wear proper personal protective equipment due to potential lead exposure. Equipment storage on site is not permitted. The bid pricing should be for each cleaning event, though the frequency may vary depending on filter usage and time.

Answer: Yes, 55 Gal barrels will be provided by 5 SFS/S4C.
· Will there be a requirement that all subcontractor employees working on site have 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training along with medical monitoring due to the possible exposure (inhalation) of concentrated lead dust while replacing the filters and the vacuuming operations?
Answer: No, as the contractors should be aware of the hazards of cleaning a firing range and wearing proper PPE.
