B206 Solicitation Questions

1. Please reference the Statement of Work dated 14 August 2020. Scope references rooms labeled Training and Heritage in B206. I cannot seem to locate rooms labeled

Training and Heritage on the drawings contained in the file, Attachment 6 As-Built

Drawing. Can you please provide the Room Numbers associated with the Rooms labeled Training and Heritage so we can locate them on the provided as-built.

Floor plan will be updated with Heritage Room/Training Room highlighted.

2. Please reference the Statement of Work dated 14 August 2020. Scope requires the

Contractor to provide approximately 300 square feet of wood laminate flooring in the

Training Room with what is similar to that in the Heritage Room. Can you provide a specification or as-built information for the wood laminate flooring that is in the

Training Room?

As builts could not be found to verify the existing flooring in the heritage room. The flooring in the heritage room shall be removed and the contractor shall install wood laminate flooring in the entire room. SOW will be updated to reflect this change.

3. Please reference the Attachment 6 As-built Drawing – The Drawing Index on Sheet G002 indicates 132 total sheets. The pdf file includes a total of 116 sheets. When viewing the sheets in the file it appears some sheets may be duplicated and/or missing?

After taking a closer look at those as-builts, they don’t contain any information relevant to this project. Relevant as-builts will be provided with the updated SOW.

No, chair rail shall be removed from the heritage room.

5. I Notice that there are no floor kick boards in the SOW, do you want us to add the floor boards around the floors?

Floor boards shall be constructed to match the laminate wood flooring being installed.

During the site visit it was noted that the relocation of the existing fire sprinkler system piping or heads was not included in the current SOW. Is the Government requiring any work to the existing fire sprinkler system in the Training & Heritage Room to be completed by the Contractor?

The Government does not believe that work will need to be done on the existing Fire Suppression System. The Contractor shall verify that the existing Fire Suppression System meets fire code requirements for the expanded heritage room.

9. Please reference the Statement of Work for Project 1098425, dated, 14 August 2020 – Part 1, Section 1.2 of the SOW requires contractor to relocate existing utilities. During the site visit it was noted that the relocation of the existing HVAC system diffusers & Grilles was not included in the current SOW. Is the Government requiring the Contractor to apply vinyl cove base or wood baseboard and quarter-round trim in the Training & Heritage Room?

12. Please reference the Statement of Work for Project 1098425, dated, 14 August 2020 – Part 1, Section 1.2 of the SOW requires contractor to relocate existing utilities. During the site visit it was noted that the existing electrical branch circuits in the wall between the Training & Heritage rooms have already been removed from the wall cavity. Are there any other Utilities in the Training & Heritage Room the Contractor will need to relocate?

No.

13. Please reference the Statement of Work for Project 1098425, dated, 14 August 2020 – Part 1, Section 1.3 of the SOW requires contractor to remove telecommunication lines. 15. Please reference the Statement of Work for Project 1098425, dated, 14 August 2020 – Part 1, Section 1.5 of the SOW requires contractor to reconfigure the suspended ceiling grid. During the site visit it was noted that removal and replacement of the existing acoustical ceiling system in the Training or Heritage Rooms was not part of the current SOW and the Government is only requiring the Contractor to patch the void left in the grid system after the wall is removed. As acoustical ceiling grid systems are not manufactured to be patched, would the Government consider requiring the Contractor remove the existing grid system in the Training Room and then extend the grid system from the Heritage Room into the Training Room?

The Government doesn’t believe that the entire ceiling grid will need to be removed completely. Only removed what would be necessary to provide an even pattern of ceiling tiles.
