Questions and Answers for

FA448619RA014 – Replace Approach – Threshold- End Light Fixtures

Question 1: What are the dimensions of the concrete pad on the north and south sides?

Answer: South side: 4 concrete pads 30 sq. meters each. North side: 2 concrete pads of 10 sq.

meters each, 5 concrete pads of 15 sq. meters each, 1 concrete pad of 20 sq. meters, 1 concrete pad of 25 sq. meters and 2 concrete pads of 35 sq. meters.

Question 2: Is to mill 5 cm and put 5 cm of bituminous, in the drawings has 6 " and 12 ", can clarify.

Answer: Mill and overlay 5 cm only.

Question 3: They talk about manhole, how many there are and their location.

Answer: See attachment 4 – Project Drawings – Old Approach Lighting System.

Question 4: Can provide autocad drawings, the drawings provided have little information to make breakdown.

Answer: 65 Contracting Flight is able to provide the autocad drawings (scaled runway area map to help making breakdown). All interested must request it by email at tania.cardoso.2.pt@us.af.mil and 65CONF.LGC.ALL@us.af.mil. Attachments will be sent through ARL Safe.

Question 5: What is the area of paint to remove by color?

Answer: Follow guidance/procedures in attachment 5 – Temporary Displaced Threshold.

Question 6: What is the length of the trenches for electricity?

Answer: See attachments: 1- Specifications, 4 Jan 2019, 4 – Project Drawings – Old Approach

Lighting System, and request 65 Contracting Flight the autocad drawings to scaled map for measurements.

Question 7: Please provide Attachment 1 for the project indemnities as states in Spec Section

01 11 00 parag. 1.3.1.

Answer: 65 Contracting Flight is able to provide this attachment. All interested must request it by email at tania.cardoso.2.pt@us.af.mil and 65CONF.LGC.ALL@us.af.mil. Attachment will be sent through ARL Safe.

Question 8: For Bid estimating purposes we request scaled dwg´s to allow estimating material quantities for the following:

. Asphalt layer removal and replacement areas.

. Pavement markings to be replaced.

. Replace existing conduits under North and South overruns.

. Lighting vault (T-927) location to allow cables measurement.

Answer: Please request 65 Contracting Flight the autocad drawings.

Question 9: Replace approach lighting system, poles and towers. We request heights and specifications for poles and towers

Answer: See attachment 4 -Project Drawings – Old Approach Lighting System for approach lighting system heights. Please see attachment 1- Specifications, 4 Jan 2019 and ICAO for poles and towers specs.

Question 10: “As stated on SOW (Section 01 11 00 – Page 3), we hereby request 65 CONF to kindly provide attachment 1 of Statement of Work (SOW) with information regarding “Project indemnities”.

Answer: 65 Contracting Flight is able to provide this attachment. All interested must request it by email at tania.cardoso.2.pt@us.af.mil and 65CONF.LGC.ALL@us.af.mil. Attachment will be sent through ARL Safe.

Question 11: “At “Summary of Work” (SOW) (Section 01 11 00 Page 2) it states «5cm mil and overlay overrun areas at north and south ends», we believe that this is referring to drawing

#5 («Remove existing asphalt layer [areas]»), however in drawing #9 detail (A) the asphalt layer to be removed and repaved is 12” (30cm). The depth difference in the asphalt layer alone represents a magnitude of 2.000.000,00€ to 3.000.000,00€.”

Answer: Mill and overlay 5 cm only.
