About this file

This document contains a federal contract solicitation and related questions from vendors. The solicitation is for an inbound and outbound baggage handling conveyor system for the 305th Aerial Port Squadron at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. The Statement of Work establishes requirements for design, fabrication, installation, orientation and testing of the conveyor system. Appendices provide specifications for the inbound and outbound conveyors. The pricing matrix and all required documents must be submitted by March 20, 2020. Vendors submitted questions that were answered by the Air Force, including confirmation that dimensions can be obtained from the AutoCAD drawings and that a CAD drawing is included with the solicitation package. A pre-proposal site visit will take place on March 4, 2020.

Questions submitted by Vendors Answers provided by Government below questions (In Bold)

1. The current location of the existing MCP is no longer up to NEC code. Would the Air Force be willing to relocate the power to the where the new MCP would be placed according to code? The NEC code in question is under 110.26 (A)(1). Hopefully an electrical engineer on base can find a way around it or make it work. We aim to provide you the best possible service with as minimal unforeseen expenses as possible. If this is one of those things that could be a big price tag item later on we would rather deal with it up front and be clear on the expectations from everyone involved.

We are good with the specifications as written. The reference refers to having three feet in front of electrical panels. The design has the required three feet.

2. Could you please provide the dimensions of the conveyors? Including conveyor lengths and elevations.

The elevations are provided in the Appendixes, but the overall length of the conveyors is not and the drawings are not dimensioned. The AutoCAD drawings are to scale, so they can get the overall length from the AutoCAD drawings. I did a quick measurement of the drawings.

Outbound Conveyor Scale/Feeder Conveyors – 8 feet Take Away Conveyor – 140 feet

Inbound Conveyor – 220 feet

3. Is there a CAD drawing available for suppliers to review? Preferably in a .dwg file.

CAD drawing is in the attachments section of the solicitation package.
