HORN DRIVER

Maintenance and Wiring Manual

ATI HORN DRIVER Replacement &Wiring

The picture shows the back of driver cover and the spinner knob to remove it.

The threading on the knob is very long and will take a lot of un-screwing to take off.

It will also probably be a bit corroded because it is exposed to the elements.

Always take a pair of slip-jaw pliers (and a rag to place between the pliers and the softer plastic of the knob) to loosen the knob.

ALWAYS BE CAREFUL of the gasket when replacing the back cover. The gasket keeps water and wasp out of the back of the enclosure.

ALWAYS PROPERLY RESEAT THE GASKET

Picture shows 4 drivers screwed into the driver yoke. (Though this could be 2 or even 1 drivers)

The threading on the speaker drivers is a standard 1.00” diameter with right hand thread used on all speaker drivers.

Note the 4 conductor terminal block between the bottom and the right drivers.

If you have to remove one of these you will probably need the rag as well. In the case of an exceptionally tough one you can use an Oil filter removal strap handle.

Be careful not to cross thread the parts.

NOTE:

Speaker Horn’s of this size are notorious for also housing WASP and HORNET Nest’s.

ALWAYS TAKE A FRESH CAN OF WASP & HORNET SPRAY WHEN SERVICING

THESE DEVICES

Speaker Wiring:

The speaker cables must be connected to the drivers per the ATI Installation Drawing. It is very important to follow the color code specified in the drawing, Figure 1 - WIRING FOR OS-1 SPEAKER

Wiring inside the OS-1 Speaker Head

NOTE:

Pay close attention to the driver polarity to insure proper phasing of the compression drivers within the horns

Connecting drivers out of phase will result in significant loss of audio output power and will require a revisit to the top of the pole to fix.

Speaker Impedances

You should read 2.5Ω ±.5Ω between pins 1-4 and 2-3 of each phoenix connector (this is to measure drivers, so cables must NOT be connected to the Siren Amp board when measuring)

The Speaker Cables shall then be run to the Stainless Steel Enclosure through the designated liquid tight fitting and then into the top controller compartment of the enclosure. On the audio output connectors J8, J9, J10, and J11, remove the plugs and connect them to the cables per the installation drawing.
