Basic Values, Operations and Indicators of 44169 Connectors: J1 - RS485 I/O port: connects to various devices
J2 - Rabbit Programming Port: Pin 1 aligns with red stripe of Rabbit cable J3 - Radio Data I/O: Pin 1 – TxD+ (Transmit data output)
Pin 2 – GND Pin 3 – RxD+ (Receive data output) Pin 4 – PTT+ (Push to talk output) Pin 5 – GND Pin 6 – SQ (Squelch input) Pin 7 – CTS (Clear to Send) Pin 8 – RAUD In (Audio input)
J5 - Strobe/Intrusion I/O: with corresponding LEDs, IN1 and IN2 J5 - Digital Message I/O: 20-pin ribbon cable (1 to 20 reversed cable) J6 - Charger Input - Solar: +24 - 28VDC with reference to GND
AC: +28 – 31VDC with reference to GND J7 - Radio Power Output: ~12VDC J8, J9, J10, J11 - Speaker Connectors: 2.5Ω ±.5Ω between pins 1-4 and 2-3 of each phoenix connector (this is to measure drivers, so cables must NOT be connected to the Siren Amp board when measuring) J12, J13 - Battery Voltage Inputs: ~24 – 28 VDC
Pots: VR1 - TxPot: when xmitting, adjusted to about 100 - 120mVAC @ TP1 with ref to GND*
VR2 - RxPot: when receiving, adjusted to about 100 - 120mVAC @ TP2 with ref to
GND**
Push Buttons: PB1 - Reset PB: resets the power to siren amp board (also called a HARD RESET)
PB2 - Tone PB: generates 576Hz steady tone at full power PB3 - Messages PB: plays all messages at full power PB4 - Silent PB: performs silent test @ 7kHz and reports Pass/Fail PB5 - Lo Power PB: initiates ¼ power setting (press Tone or Message after) PB6 - Cal PB: performs silent test @ 7kHz and records values PB7 - Off PB: cancels any activation
LED indicators: CR1 – /PTT (Push To Talk) – lights when radio is transmitting
CR2 – /SQ (Squelch) – lights when radio is in standby, off when receiving CR8 – SHTDWN (Shutdown) – lights when amplifier is in standby mode CR7 – AUDIO – lights when amplifier is in operation mode CR6 – PASSED – lights after silent test when successful CR5 – OC (Over Current) – lights when amplifier exceeds current limit CR3 - /IN1 – lights when intrusion switch closed CR4 - /IN2 – optional input LED CR9 - +5V – indicates +5V power supply is operational CR10 - +12 – indicates +12V power supply is operational CR11 - HI TEMP – indicates overheated status CR12 - +12S – indicates +12V switching supply activated
* Adjusting Tx and Rx levels may disable communication between CCU and SoundBlasters ** Rx level is dependent on Tx level of CCU; only adjust this when Tx is calibrated at CCU, and vice-versa
Siren Amp Board (SoundBlaster) Dipswitches
The SB has two switch banks, SW 1 and SW 2. SW 1 sets the address; SW 2 designates whether the
Siren is solar powered or AC (2.7), whether the radio is Trunking or conventional (2.6), and 2.5 enables calibration.

A = RTU Binary Address
C = Local Cal Bit #2.5 On = Enable Speaker Cal (OK to keep this ON during regular operation) Off = Disable Speaker Cal R = Radio Type Bit #2.6 On = Trunking
Off = Conventional S = Solar Powered Bit #2.7 On = Solar charger Off = AC charger x = Unused Spares
█ denotes the switch position.
